My hubby and I desparately want our best friend and perhaps his wife to join in on the adventuring, but the party only offers 2 spots free.

Is there a way to have 3+ people party up on a regular rp campaign?

Yes, but unfortunately not in the beginning area. Once you finish the academy mission at level 3+ your group size will go up to 4 people, and later in the game goes up to 8 people.

Just vague enough to drive me completely insane. (aka: i'll be bugging people in game higher level than me to explain this academy thing to me. *laughs*)

*Spoilers*

The academy is a mission from Tydus in Ascalon city. Right now, you're in a pretty small world. You have the option of either completing all of the quests where you're at now, or once you reach level 3 and have completed a couple of Primary quests, you can do the academy mission.

Once you enter the academy mission you will be in another time, there will be NO going back to where you are now. This new time is the actual game. Right now you're in the 'tutorial' area. So once you do that, you'll be able to form bigger groups.

There really isn't much you can miss in the first area. Though, a few things you may want to do before academy:
1. Get the Rez Signet from the lady outside of Ascalon, by talking to her while grouped with another player.
2. Get the Belt Pouch by trading 5 Skale Fins (found from nearby Scale monsters) to the collector right outside of Ascalon next to the Rez Signet lady.(You can buy one later for 100g, but may as well save the money)
3. Do some of your quests that give you skills. You can buy them later, but they're free if you do the quests.

That's about it. I usually do academy around level 5-7 or so, but you can do it as early as lvl 3. Hope that helps.
